The desk role begins with foundational training as a First Notice of Loss (FNOL) call handler, where the adjuster develops core claim intake, coverage awareness, and customer communication skills by taking loss reports over the phone. Field ssociates gain experience completing loss inspections and partnering with both desk and field claim owners. Later, the Homeowner Claims Associate Adjuster is responsible for investigating and resolving their own, low to moderate complexity property claims in accordance with established claims guidelines and regulatory requirements.
