Role Overview
Role Description

Assess and underwrite home insurance submissions, inspections and renewal underwriting referrals of increasing complexity while adhering to underwriting guidelines, appetite and state regulations
Execute New Business and Renewal projects. This may include home inspections, new business policies, and questionable risk referrals
Serve as a knowledge resource and thought leader on state regulation requirements, company products and policy forms, and underwriting guidelines and philosophy
Serve as subject matter expert, including actively assessing process improvement opportunities; follow and support the documentation and maintenance of department procedures
Be available and approachable and thoughtfully address escalated issues, complaints, questions
Act as resource and liason with Product, Claims and CS departments to evaluate trends and recommend UW actions; work collaboratively to assess and improve Risk Report lifecycle results
Lead and execute special projects or additional duties as assigned; may need to execute TEAM LEAD duties in their absense
Assist in delivering training for new hires and ongoing training initiatives, providing guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters (associates and underwriters)
