Role Overview
Role Description
The Underwriting Associate is responsible for managing a territory while simultaneously expanding their underwriting authority and acumen. This role is a balance of maintaining efficient service levels for customer care and transaction processing, developing strong agency relationships through effective communication, and proactively identifying and mitigating risk. You will actively support back-end initiatives to improve process and system efficiencies.

Product Mastery:

Thorough knowledge of Auto and Umbrella products.

Solid understanding of Homeowner basics and basic personal lines knowledge on watercraft and miscellaneous vehicles.
Key Technology:

Proficiency in primary underwriting and billing systems (Polstar/PolicyPro, FAB/BillingPro, UW2.0, Workstation).

Working knowledge of agent and risk analysis tools (Agent Web, IR, DHI/LexisNexis, RIM Database, SIU Database, RMV).
Disciplines & Authority:

Strong understanding of policy forms, endorsements, and underwriting guidelines/success criteria.

Working authority for low-to-mid-level risk transactions, including Umbrella NB high limit referrals/umbrella authority ($1-2 million) and managing SR22 filings.

Licensing: Producer Licenses in Primary State are required.
